Museum Building - Education Center

The Education Center is designed to offer a continuous program of lectures, seminars, workshops, and films for the benefit of the public, both adult and children. The center will be dedicated to research, training, and in-house and outreach educational activities.
The Education Centre will be located on the first floor, the 'Children’s Floor'. There is a separate entrance, lifts from the Entrance Courtyard to the centre. This ensures a clarity for circulation of visiting tour groups and makes for easy monitoring of children.

The Education Centre has a dual purpose:

  1. To bring a deeper level of understanding to the workings and contents of the Museum.
‘ integrating real objects with virtual tours of excavation sites and virtual reconstruction of sites and monuments ’

  2. To open up the museum buildings to non-museum goers.
This dual purpose of the Education Centre manifests itself in the plans of the physical building.
