We are pleased to announce that the 4th symposium of the Grand Egyptian Museum – Conservation Center (GEM-CC) will be held in Giza from 15 to 17 February 2016. The symposium is being organized in collaboration between GEM-CC and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency).
The 21 st Century witnesses a tremendous progress in the concepts, materials and techniques of the conservation and preservation of cultural heritage. These innovative materials and techniques have overcome the limitations of conventional materials and procedures in an unprecedented way. However some traditional methods and conventional materials that have long proven effective and successful are still currently utilized, alone or in combination with innovative ones.
In this regard, the forth symposium of GEM-CC focuses on the conservation and preservation of cultural heritage in the 21 st century’s museum through four sessions; preventive conservation, remedial conservation, conservation science and collection management, covering all the conservation and preservation activities.
